故事发生在东北某地。12月18日，松江市东钢股票案知情人市委张秘书被人枪杀，侦察员方雨林（仼程伟 饰）调取资料后断定，此案与省市领导有重要牵连。东钢案举报人廖红宇（阎淑琴 饰）经副市长周密（何政军 饰）顺水人情介绍，来到九天集团冯祥龙（曹力 饰）手下，她被派往仓储基地，暗中掌握了冯祥龙侵吞国有资产的证据，她连夜写信举报，不料遭冯手下砍杀，幸得苏大夫暗中相救，廖红宇决定进京告状。方雨林对丁洁（曹颖 饰）颇有好感，但丁洁与周密接触频繁，此时的周密已被方雨林列为重要嫌疑人。中纪委介入要案调查，冯祥龙涉案被捕，而重要嫌犯周密则要出国考察，在这紧急时刻，方雨林能拿出铁的证据吗......。One day, thinking that it will make your wife and friends smile, you shave off the moustache that you have had for the last ten years. Viewers who like their conclusions tidy may rebel, but those who relish outstanding performances in the service of an intriguing idea will be entertained.
