电影通过男女主人公在抗日烽火中的芭蕾情缘，讲述一段跨越国界的凄美恋情，揭露日本军国主义的凶残与伪善、顽固不化与背信弃义，展示了中俄两国军民患难与共、携手并肩共同抗击法西斯侵略的战斗友谊。 1945年9月12日，潜伏在黑龙江边境小镇丛林中的300多名日本军人拒不投降、负隅顽抗，血洗了当地村民，并袭击了苏联红军。最后东北抗联部队和苏联红军一举剿灭了这股日军。由于战斗发生在日本宣布投降以后的第28天，故称为抗日战争中发生在黑土地上的“最后一战”。。Previously acclaimed for his essayistic documentaries, Philip Scheffner has now ventured into fiction.
