网约车司机斯宾赛（马克斯·托普林 Max Topplin 饰）接二连三拒绝了几名男乘客的单子，最终选择了名叫凯米（约旦·海耶斯 Jordan Hayes 饰）的女乘客。凯米刚刚结束飞机旅途，满身疲惫，但是斯宾赛表现得过于热情，路上不断与之攀谈，令凯米颇感不安。夜幕降临，斯宾赛开到了一条陌生路线，这更令凯米惶恐不安。眼见手机即将没电，凯米再也无法忍受，决定下车独自回家。诡异的是，她仿佛进入了一个异度空间，虽然走着直路，却最终兜到了司机面前。与此同时，周遭氛围愈来愈诡异，仿佛有个神秘所在，正有条不紊地将两个人写上了屠杀的名单。 肃杀之夜，无路可逃……。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
