1962年，年幼的林初三和姑妈秀姨母女随大陆难民潮来到香港，无依无靠的初三在暴动中结识了地头蛇大哥泉哥，被其收为义子，和泉哥的儿子沙皮做了异性兄弟。泉哥被仇人杀死，初三跟沙皮两兄弟自此寄人篱下，初三因藏匿老大的毒品被迫染上毒瘾，时间一晃多年，初三告别戒毒所后，与沙皮结识了女学生阿美，初三对阿美一见钟情，两人不久奉子成婚。沙皮在婚礼上为了保住初三的面子不惜以身犯险，结果婚宴刚过，两兄弟因打劫又刺伤警察被判入狱。在狱中，他们领悟到小弟生涯毫无前途，于是出狱后借高利贷拉皮条，这将二人又引向了另一个深渊……。The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as the Argentine radio operator.。
