影片讲述凌菲（安晨芯饰）为了赚取母亲的医药费白天舞蹈教学，晚上则在酒吧女神潇潇（王一霏饰）的帮助下兼职跳钢管舞。陈末（曾一竣饰）因业绩超前被老板秦川（孙雪岩）带到酒吧放松，看到台上热舞的凌菲不禁陷入回忆，原来两人曾是情侣，因陈末家境贫寒被凌菲父亲当众羞辱，从此立誓发愤图强，有朝一日报复回去。 陈末在老板秦川的带领下通过融资项目“保利一号”迅速积累名利财富，开始重新追求凌菲，然而好景不长，凌菲被秦川虎视眈眈，在潇潇的配合下用计陷害了凌菲；“保利一号”也开始暗流涌动，金融爆仓，秦川携款潜逃，陈末一时间人财两空，而幕后的金融操纵者陈浩南（陶大宇饰）渐渐浮出水面……。The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely. The tamped-down acting and the spare, tense visual rhetoric suggest a state of moral crisis as well as the response—as much in style as in substance—that it demands.。
