剧中以居住在北京的三家人为主要发展：代表殷实中坚份子的姚思远一家、代表清流的曾文璞一家、代表腐败的牛思道一家。于此大时代动荡之际，三家人见证了中国人从封建到民主的过程，个人或被时代洪流吞没、或与时代俱进成就个人修为，当时移境迁，蓦然回首，方觉悟近四十年一场京华梦，不过浮云苍狗和过眼烟云，真正留驻心中的还是亘古不变的人间之爱。。Ok, folks, this is my last Ishii upload. Totsugeki! Hakata gurentai is his first feature and last 8mm film. Haven't watched it yet myself, but from the looks of it, this is very much reminescent of eighties and nineties v-cinema, sort of like early Miike (only made in 1978). There is considerably more dialogue than in his earlier films, but it doesn't seem too complicated plotw...。
