少林寺众僧立志反清复明，至善禅师(姜大卫)前往峨嵋山取得炼钢之法和铸造各种兵器、暗器的图样之后，匆匆赶回少林，却遇上清兵火烧少林寺，寺中众僧大部份血战而死。至善前往南方，肩负起重建少林寺的重任，一面化缘募捐，一面结识江湖豪杰，并收录李锦纶(徐少强)、童千斤(吴杭生)等热血青年为弟子……。A nine part series depicting the varying fortunes of four friends - Nicky, Geordie, Mary and Tosker - from the optimistic times of 1964 to the uncertainties of 1995.
